I was driving my car inside a shopping centre very slowly along side people having coffee on small tables. I then had to stop as there was a scissor lift making some repairs, I heard a voice and someone called me. They sounded familiar but I couldn't place them then I realised it was my nan who passed over 20 years ago. I was really shocked, scared and whole range of emotions. Just as I went to speak to her I got pulled away at pace to somewhere I can't recall, I tried to speak to my wife but I couldnt speak, I felt like I was really trying to call out but it was like my voice had gone.
Dreams often serve as a reflection of our subconscious thoughts, feelings, and experiences. In your dream, several symbolic elements stand out that can shed light on its meaning.
Driving the Car: This typically symbolizes your control over your life or direction you're taking. Driving slowly in a shopping center, a place of choices and social interactions, may indicate that you're feeling cautious or hesitant about some aspects of your life.
The Shopping Center: This represents a space of variety, choices, and social connectivity. It may point to the many options available to you or perhaps a sense of being overwhelmed by these choices.
Stopping for the Scissor Lift: This interruption may symbolize a halt in your progress or an obstacle you’re facing. It could also suggest that there are aspects of your life that need attention, like repairs in a relationship or personal issues.
Hearing Your Nan's Voice: Encountering a deceased loved one in a dream can be deeply emotional. It often signifies unresolved feelings or a longing for guidance. Your nan's appearance might represent your connection to family, traditions, wisdom, or perhaps a reflection of traits you admire or miss.
Shock and Fear: These emotions could indicate that you are processing feelings of loss or grappling with unresolved issues surrounding your nan's passing. The shock of hearing her voice might represent nostalgia or a longing for connection with your past.
Being Pulled Away: This feeling of being taken away from your nan before you could communicate may represent feelings of loss, helplessness, or frustration in your waking life. It might suggest that there are things you wish to say to people from the past or aspects of your life that you feel are slipping away.
Inability to Speak: This could symbolize feelings of powerlessness or not being able to express yourself in a situation. It may reflect a struggle with communication in your waking life, whether it’s with your wife or other relationships.
Overall, this dream may be a confluence of your feelings of nostalgia, the desire to connect with your roots or loved ones, and your current life's obstacles. It might be beneficial to reflect on whether there are unresolved emotions or conversations you need to have in your waking life, as this dream seems to signal both a yearning for connection and a struggle to find your voice.
